İlk kez Sony profesyonel HDV kamera serisi için progresif taramayı sundu. Tipik 50i`ye ek olarak HVR-V1E 25P progresif tarama ile de görüntü yakalıyor. Bu özellik, daha sinematik bir görünüm oluşturmak ve prodüksiyonlarının içine düşmek isteyenler için ideal ve özellikle düşük bütçeli film yapımcılarına hitap ediyor. 25p taranan görüntüler 50i`de kaydediliyor ve mevcut HDV1080/50İ HDV ürünleri kullanılarak oynanabiliyor.
